Volunteering

Get Involved and join the
volunteer programme

Our education and outreach work (including riding for the disabled) relies on volunteers. These are made up of horsey volunteers, people who have never touched a horse but would like to work with the children and everyone in between.

Please speak to us if you do feel you have time to help our RDA work in anyway including fundraising or helping with leading riders or just being a point of contact for a particular group.

How our Volunteers help

Volunteers at Kingsmead can take part in a variety of task which may include:

Horse Care,

Grooming,

Tacking up and un-tacking,

Assisting in lessons: leading ponies and side-walking with riders,

Helping with fundraising events: catering, helping with raffles or public collections etc,

Assisting at our Open Days and weekend events.

We welcome volunteers with time to give during the working day, in the evenings and weekends. No prior knowledge of horse care is required as full training will be given. All volunteers over the age of 16 must undertake a DBS check. Volunteering can be very flexible from regular sessions to one-off fundraising events. There are so many ways to get involved.

Give us a call if you could help or speak to our team leaders who can advise you on how to apply.

We recognise our volunteers, we couldn't do it without them!
